Imagine exploring Palma in the evening, moving from restaurant to restaurant, and enjoying each course with new faces around the table. Conversations start easily, the food keeps coming, and before you know it, strangers feel like friends. That’s the idea behind the Social Dinner Club!

What is the Social Dinner Club?

When I first heard about the Social Dinner Club in Mallorca, I wasn’t really sure what to expect. It’s not just going out for dinner, and it’s definitely not a standard restaurant tour. The Social Dinner Club is all about bringing people together through food, in a relaxed and social way.

During the Social Dinner Club (which basically is a Walking Dinner), everything is organized so you can just enjoy the evening without having to think about the details. Instead of staying in one place, you enjoy a three-course dinner spread across three different restaurants in Palma’s Old Town. At each restaurant, one course is served together with one drink, which can be wine, beer, a soft drink or water.

The evening starts at a meeting point in Palma Old Town, where the group comes together before setting off. From there, you follow a walking schedule that connects the restaurants in a relaxed and easy way. The walking distances are short and manageable, making the walk part of the experience rather than something tiring. Still water is served at the table throughout the evening, so everything feels comfortable and well taken care of.

The dinner usually runs from around 19:00 until 22:00, with the option to stay for after drinks once the final course has been enjoyed. Because the seating changes at each restaurant, you sit with different people throughout the evening, keeping the conversations fresh and varied. The common spoken language is English, which makes it easy for everyone to join in, whether you’re visiting Mallorca for the first time or have been living on the island for years.

What makes this set-up work so well is the combination of structure and flexibility. There is a clear plan, but the atmosphere stays relaxed and social. You don’t feel rushed from place to place, and you don’t feel stuck at one table either. Instead, the evening flows naturally, with good food, easy walking and plenty of time to connect with the people around you.

A taste of the restaurants involved

The Social Dinner Club works with a small group of restaurants in Palma’s Old Town that are all within walking distance of each other. During each event, guests visit three of these restaurants, with the exact combination varying from evening to evening. Each restaurant has its own style and atmosphere, which keeps the experience dynamic and adds variety to the night.

Quina Creu

A well-known local favourite in Palma. Quina Creu is all about good tapas and a lively atmosphere. It’s a spot where locals and visitors naturally end up at the same table. The energy of this restaurant really adds to the social side of the evening.

La Vieja

La Vieja stands out for its creative approach to food and its focus on flavour. The dishes feel modern and carefully put together, without losing that relaxed, local feel. It’s the kind of place where you immediately notice the attention to detail, both on the plate and in the overall atmosphere.

Bocalto

Bocalto brings a contemporary twist to Mediterranean cuisine in a stylish yet welcoming setting. The menu focuses on seasonal ingredients and creative combinations, offering dishes that feel both refined and approachable. With its relaxed atmosphere and attention to detail, it’s a place where guests can enjoy good food while easily settling into conversation.

Guindilla

Guindilla combines food with design and a laid-back vibe. It’s stylish without feeling formal, and the space invites you to sit back, enjoy your drink and have a good conversation. This is one of those places where the setting plays a big role in the experience, making it a great fit for a social dinner.

La Infame

La Infame has a relaxed and informal feel, making it a perfect match for the Social Dinner Club. From the moment you step inside, the space feels social and easy-going, which fits perfectly with the idea of meeting new people.

Fervor

Fervor brings a slightly more contemporary feel to Palma’s food scene, while still staying true to local flavours. The atmosphere is relaxed but stylish, making it a place where people often settle in for a long, enjoyable meal. The menu focuses on quality ingredients and bold Mediterranean flavours, creating dishes that feel both refined and approachable. It’s the kind of restaurant where the food is memorable, but the overall experience is just as important.

La Miranda

La Miranda offers a cosy setting that feels both local and welcoming. The restaurant focuses on flavourful dishes inspired by Mediterranean cuisine, served in a relaxed environment that encourages guests to take their time and enjoy the evening. Its intimate atmosphere makes it a natural stop in Palma’s Old Town.

Bodega Mayor

Bodega Mayor blends traditional charm with a lively dining atmosphere. Known for its selection of tapas and local flavours, the restaurant reflects the social side of Mallorcan dining, where sharing plates and enjoying a glass of wine are part of the experience. The warm setting makes it an easy place to gather around the table.

Sa Costa

Sa Costa is a restaurant that captures the spirit of casual dining in Palma. With its friendly atmosphere and straightforward approach to good food, it’s a place where guests can relax and enjoy classic flavours in an easy-going setting. The lively yet comfortable vibe fits perfectly with the social nature of the Social Dinner Club experience.

Casa s’Oli

Casa s’Oli offers a warm and authentic glimpse into traditional Mallorcan cooking. The focus here is on classic island recipes prepared with care and respect for local ingredients. The atmosphere feels welcoming and unpretentious, much like a meal in a local home. It’s a great place to experience the comforting, rustic side of Mallorcan cuisine, where simple dishes are full of flavour and tradition.

These restaurants together create a well-balanced mix of flavours, settings and atmospheres. During the Social Dinner Club, guests visit three of these locations, making every evening slightly different while keeping the walking dinner smooth and relaxed.

Who is this experience perfect for?

The Social Dinner Club is designed for people who want to meet new people while enjoying good food. It’s ideal if you’re travelling solo, have recently arrived in Mallorca or if you’re a local and you simply feel like connecting with others in a natural and relaxed way. You don’t come with your own group, you join a table where everyone is open to meeting someone new.

This experience is perfect if you like the idea of socialising, but don’t enjoy loud bars or awkward small talk. Sitting down for dinner together makes conversations start easily, without pressure. Everyone is there for the same reason, which creates an open and welcoming atmosphere from the beginning.

Prefer to stay together as one group?

While the Social Dinner Club is designed to help people meet new faces by changing tables between courses, some visitors prefer to stay with their own group throughout the evening. For those who want a similar restaurant-to-restaurant experience but prefer to keep the same company, the self-guided Wine & Dine Tour in Palma can be a great alternative. This experience also takes guests through several carefully selected restaurants in Palma’s Old Town, but allows you to explore the evening at your own pace with your own group.

A different way to spend your evening in Mallorca

The Social Dinner Club is a relaxed and social alternative to a typical night out in Mallorca. It’s not just about where you eat, but about who you share the table with and the conversations that come with it. The mix of good food, easy walking and a friendly atmosphere makes the evening feel natural and enjoyable.

The next Social Dinner Club takes place on May 14. If you’re looking for a simple way to meet new people and experience Mallorca in a more social way, this is an evening worth considering!
