Where to watch the World Cup 2026 in Palma: The best bars in Palma

The World Cup only comes around every four years. Watching it in Palma on a warm summer night, cold drink in hand, terrace buzzing, the whole city tuned in is something else entirely. Whether Spain is playing or not, the atmosphere in Palma’s bars during a big match is worth experiencing for its own sake.

The 2026 World Cup runs from June to July right in the heart of Mallorca’s summer season. Most matches kick off in the evening Spanish time, which means you can spend the day at the beach and still make kick-off in time for a beer. Here’s where to watch, neighbourhood by neighbourhood.

Palma’s sports bar scene splits neatly into three flavours: the high-energy Irish pub experience with multiple screens and a crowd that’s there for the football; the more relaxed Old Town bar where sport shares space with good drinks and a mixed local crowd; and the waterfront terrace bars on the Paseo Marítimo, where the setting is as much the draw as the match itself.

Knowing which you want before you head out will save you a lot of walking on a hot night.

Santa Catalina is Palma’s liveliest neighbourhood after dark, a mix of locals, expats and visitors, with bars that stay busy until the early hours. For the World Cup, this is your best bet for a proper match-night atmosphere.

The undisputed number one sports bar in Mallorca, and it’s not close. Hogan’s has been here since 1996 and has 14 full-HD screens across two floors, you won’t miss a second of the action from anywhere in the building. The crowd is international, loud and knowledgeable about football, and Guinness is consistently rated the best on the island. 

Food-wise: handcrafted burgers, chicken wings and nachos, all made fresh.

A craft brewpub with a more relaxed, neighbourhood feel. Open from 5:30pm, La Velo is a great option if you want something a little different from the Irish pub formula: good local craft beers at reasonable prices, a friendly open-plan space, and a crowd that leans more local than tourist. Screens are available for big matches.

A solid pre-match option before heading somewhere livelier.

The historic heart of the city, Palma Old Town, with narrow streets, beautiful architecture and bars that have been here for decades. More relaxed than Santa Catalina, with a mixed crowd of locals, yacht crews and visitors.

The Corner Bar has been in Palma since 2001 and voted one of the world’s most famous yacht crew bars. Three bar areas and an outdoor terrace in the heart of La Lonja make this a great spot to settle in for a long match night. Sports shown on multiple screens, friendly international crowd, pool room for downtime between games. Pints are competitively priced and there’s a long happy hour.

A modern pub opened in 2012 on Avenida Antoni Maura, a short walk from the cathedral and harbour. Popular with locals, expats and yacht crews, Lennox has multiple screens for sport, a good drinks menu (Guinness, Murphy’s, cocktails), and pub food with Spanish touches burgers, pizzas, tapas. The terrace is a great spot to watch the world go by before the match starts.

Happy hour runs Monday to Friday from 5–8pm.

The seafront promenade is where Palma goes for a big night out. Bars here have views of the marina, terraces that fill up fast on warm evenings, and a festive energy that’s hard to match. Slightly pricier than the other neighbourhoods, but the setting more than justifies it.

Shamrock is a Guinness Official Irish Pub right on the Paseo Marítimo with 9 screens, live music every night, a concert hall, a restaurant terrace and some of the best views of the marina in Palma. The food steps up a level here, aged meats from a Josper oven alongside the usual pub menu and the atmosphere on a big match night with live music afterwards is genuinely special.

Open until almost 5am.

A fun, casual sports bar with a broader entertainment offer darts, pool, ping pong, table football and arcade machines alongside the screens. More relaxed and playful than the Irish pubs, with a friendly crowd and good value drinks. Shelby’s is a great option if you want the match on but also want something to do at half time.

For Spain matches or quarter-finals onwards, Hogan’s and Shamrock in particular will be packed. Both take reservations and use them. Walk-ins on big match nights are a gamble.

Most sports bars in Palma post their weekly match listings on Instagram and Facebook. Lennox, Hogan’s and Shelby’s are all active, follow them before your trip so you know exactly what’s on when. If there’s a specific match you want to watch, message ahead and ask.

The 2026 World Cup is hosted in the US, Canada and Mexico, which means most matches kick off late evening or night in Spain, typically 9pm, midnight or 3am.
